Tank Seams and Urchins?

This is going to sounds pretty silly, but, can urchin spins damage a silicon seam on a glass tank? One of my small pincushion urchins has taken a liking to my seams where I let coralline grow because I'm too scared to get near them with my scraper. I'm imagining it poking a thousand tiny holes in my inner silicon bead... real or fake?
