How quickly can you add fish to a 170 gallon tank?

size of tank doesn't matter.
cycle does.
so you can do it slow.
or quick cycle and add fish right away.

I am about to add 1 foxface rabbitfish and an aiptasia eating file fish, then 1 month later add a blue jaw, 2 clowns and a coral beauty... think this might work?

Sure. But I would cycle the tank first. Do you have a plan for that?

Stock the tank with fish from most peacefull - to semi aggressive - most aggressive last
Sites like live aquaria and the likes tells you temperment of most common fish we have in hobby.
As fish become territorial so want the peacefull guys to go in and get their territory first
