It’s just driving me nutty, upgrading to a 180g from 120g

had someone come look at our flooring to see if tank would be supported as is, referred from a very reliable source, the inspector while not a structural engineer main job is sourced out where evaluates new construction and how building are laid out and identifies structural issues evaluated tank placement and had no concerns, actually felt my 120 would be more of an issue as only has 4 touch points to the floor

im so stinkin paranoid about this upgrade, just wanna get it going, tank bascically sits over steel beam and perpendicular to joists

i can’t get water in fast enough to ease my speculation

hate this...but what are you going to do

thats my story-appreciate the read

That will be an additional 480 lbs of water. Perpendicular to joists is good. You also have a steel beam supporting those joists or is it a post?

Its a steel beam that had steel posts across it transferring weight to basement

Yes the joists run into steel beam and was told the joists are 2x10 which i guess was better

and for some reason every other joist for at least 1/2 of the area where tank sits are already sistered
