I honestly have only known them as white worms and can’t tell you that much about them besides how to culture them. They are a great food source for picky eaters and I started growing them because it was the only thing I could get my copperband butterfly to eat for the first year.
To culture them, do you use fresh water or seawater?

Neither they grow in damp soil. Which now that I think about it clearly makes them a terrestrial worm.
I have heard that they can survive in water for a while, although I have never actually tried to pay attention to how long they survive in water.

Here is a video of a guy on YouTube feeding his so you can see what they are.

Probably Detritus worms.

I feed clams which are full of tiny particles and "juice" which feeds everything. I also feed live white worms. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I culture white worms to feed my mandarin dragonet. My girlfriend thinks I’m crazy for using a wine cooler to house the cultures.

I did a test and they survive 5 days in a cup of salt water. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
