temperature fluxuations

So i recentally picked up a reef keeper lite and having been monitoring my temp with it through out the day. I noticed that my tank starts out at 78 degrees in the morning and slowly rises by .1 degrees to 82 degrees at night before my lights go off then goes back down to 78. Should i be worried about this? what can be dobe besides running a chiller?

You can use your controller to monitor your heat. My temp used to be the same way then I had my controller keep my temp between 78 and 79 and now that's exactly where it stays.

thats what ive done i have it set to stay at 78 but im guessing my lights and other equipment heat it up to 82

You can aim a fan over your tank and/or sump. Then you can program your controller to turn the fan on when the temp is above a certain point. You might be surprised how much a fan blowing across the surface can cool your tank, but be prepared for your evaporation rate to go up.

fan in the sump under the tank, that runs all the time, and 5 in the hood that come on with my lights, 3 on top sucking air out, and 2 in the back blowing fresh in, with the hous a/c set to 78, my tank stays auound 80 with all 3 250 watt mh lights on.

a couple of smaller fans will be less noisy than 1 large fan,if noise is an issue for you but fans blowing across the tank top and a room AC unit will help keep your tank temps stable
