So I'm restarting my 55 and want to put a synergy shadow overflow. So I needed to check my glass. Seen the YouTube videos on how to use polarized glasses. So Im just wanting your opinions whether I did this right. The lines aren't as defined as in the YouTube videos.

Maybe add pictures or video so people can help judge it?

The best method for the visual test is to use a LCD screen from on an old laptop, and of course polarized lens. What are you using for the light source? IMO it looks tempered according to pic #1. If the glass isn't that thick, it's likely tempered. 55 is also a common size where the glass is tempered on the sides. Non-tempered has no stress lines or marks at all. Tempered glass can look like lines, pattern sort of shapes or blotchy patches.

I was using a ipad for light. the tank has a sticker on the bottom panel, that states its tempered, but the only panel that showed any distortion was the front bow panel. the rest the glasses just darkened.

If I remember correctly, only the bottom panel is tempered on 55's. Depending on the manufacturer.
