@HAAAAAAAA @Slocke

Seen this eel listed a few times in different places. Is this just another name for a tessalata eel or is it different?

The leopard moray is indeed another name for the tessalata but the species listed (enchelycore pardalis) is a dragon moray but the picture enlisted there is a tessalata

The species name for the tessalata is (gymnothorax favagineus) also known as the laced moray

Ah okay thank you! I thought something seemed weird with the listing!

I don't get how some people confuse the tessalata with something else, i believe the tessalata is that one eel which anyone can tell just by looking
Agreed, which is why I asked cause I was like maybe there is another closely pattered eel! Cause if that was the case I was so getting one lol but I want other fish and a tessa will eat them as you know lol

There is a eel which is confused for a Tess by even some marine biologists, that's the gymnothorax isingteena, i saw it selling at a lfs but i didn't have a tank big enough for it at that time haha

The dragon moray is beautiful, but I am not really interested since it doesn't seem to be that rare (I love rare eels) but do be careful when purchasing one, most of them are collected through cyanide

Since you are both here any thoughts on why my spotted snake eel has stopped eating. Has hardly eaten anything for a couple months after being ravenous for years.

From my research it seems to be a muraena lentiginosa, the main differences between an enchelycore and a muraena i believe is the teeth and a more elongated snout

Did you recently do any changes?
Added new tankmates?
What is it's diet?

Only change is I reduced my nutrients massively.
Diet is mostly salmon and squid with occasional silversides, krill, and mussels

Im not sure what he is, was sold to me as a jeweled but his face looks more like a mexican dragon eel to me. The store had no clue what his scientific name was!!

Ive noticed my eels dont like squid much anymore actually. Like maybe one piece but they all turn their nose up at squid so maybe try other foods? Mine love silversides, LRS chunky, and even large chunks of half thawed Pe mysis clumps
