I smell a "Scammer" this OP just messaged me saying they have a Trident for sale, and I should email them for the transaction. How does a brand new member here "looking to learn" have a piece of complex reef equipment for sale already??? Hmmmmmm...makes you wonder!

To be fair, it's not uncommon for someone that's an experienced reefer to newly join R2R, but brand new members cannot participate in the R2R Marketplace until they have 25 meaningful posts (I assume you posted a Wanted To Buy in the Marketplace).

you are correct. they responded to my "Wanted" post....and mispelled the name of it, and said we could make contact via email. It sounds fishy to me.

Yes, that raises red flags for me too. And from experience, I've had similar happen to me several times when I've posted a WTB (a brand new member telling me they have what I want, but to contact them outside of R2R). Again, brand new members with less than 25 meaningful post should be participating in the R2R Marketplace, so for that reason alone I'd proceed quite cautiously if at all.

yep...I already told them NO WAY.

I think that's smart, at least until this member engages further with the R2R community 🙂

Stop judging me wrongfully, if you're not interested you shut it up.
I'm not a bad person and neither will I ever be.
But how would we know that? If you'd like to participate in the R2R Marketplace, you should have at least 25 meaningful posts. All you have to do is engage with the community so that we can see that you're the good person I'm sure you are 🙂

A good way to build good faith would be to post a picture of the item you are looking to sell with a handwritten note with your username and the date. I believe this is now required for sellers in the R2R Marketplace, it would make sense for those replying to Wanted To Buy posts as well.

I hope that helps!
