I have yet to make a build thread after the computer crashed on me, but here is a 9 min. video of the reef. [URL=http://s597.photobucket.com/albums/tt56/mike_dani/5-21-2010_2/?action=view&current=20100521115724.flv]

Tank data:
Salinity 1.025
Temp. 80.5
PH 8.20
Alk 8 DKH
Cal 420
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate .2
Phosphate .001
Mag 1300

The tank is a OCEA 300 gallon starfire front with PVC bottom, it has a 85 gallon custom sump with room for power outage. Circulation is being handle with a Reeflow Dart pump with no restriction and two Korillia 4's. Lighting is three 250 watt reefbrite dual arch (10K and 20K) bulbs driven by reefbrite ballast in Coralvue Lumen Bright Wide reflectors. The sump has a SWC300A Skimmer, refugium with live rock only and a charcoal filter. This was setup as a back to basics tank.

The tanks dimensions are 72" wide 36" deep and 27" tall with a coast to coast external overflow. It is being ran "HERBIE" style and is absolutely quiet. I had a 110 that I tore down and transferred into a 300 gallon Rubbermaid container in January added 250 pounds of Marco rock and let everything cook for 4 months. I was amazed that everything thrived in this "Lagoon". Saturday May 15th everything went into the 300 display as you see it now and is doing great...... Only time will tell. I added 200 Pounds of Marco sand and the rock from the lagoon and so far all is good.

Fish list:
6" Mimic Tang
3" Yellow, Tomini, Sailfin, Orange Shoulder, Purple, Atlantic Blue and Lopezi Tang
2" Powder Blue Tang
4" Foxface
4" Blue Jaw Trigger
1 2.5" Copper Banded Butterfly
1 Green Dragonet
1 Midas Blenny
1 Bi-Color Blenny
1 Stary Blenny
1 Blue spot Jawfish
1 Diamond Goby
10 Green Chromis
1 Orange Clown
1 Black Clown
2 Gold Stripe Maroon clowns
1 Cleaner shrimp
1 Fire shrimp
25 Pepermint Shrimp
1 Coral Banded Shrimp
100 Nasarius Snails
20-100 Hermit crabs (sad story)

love it, I dont have to worry about rocks falling and if I decide to go closed loop it will be as easy as drilling some holes.....

Interested in seeing some pics of your lumen bright reflectors. I'm thinking about using those for my 270 and I want to see wha the spread is like on your tank!

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
