Ok angel experts, need your opinions. Got a juvenile and an subadult blueface angel in summer of 2023 to form a pair. Today (almost 3 years later) one of them still had no eye spot. Is it a hybrid or why doesn’t it have an eye spot?
First 2 pic in August of 2023. Second picture as of today. Face markings are a little different one the one with no eye spot too

I wouldn’t say they are a bonded pair, but get along fine. No fights but once in awhile maybe some mild chasing from the one with the eye spot. I don’t know at what age they become sexually mature or if they will ever form a true pair.

@MrsBugmaster I have no experience with this angel. I had 2 regal angels that never really paired up. Were fine for 7 years only a bit of chasing once in awhile. Yours are beautiful 🤩

Beautiful. That fish reminds me of a Rusty Angel... a very under appreciated (and inexpensive) smaller angel. They really pop under lights more than you'd think. 😉

It’s strange though idk why my fish would let me add an emperor with no problems apart from small ones with the Koran but not an even smaller fish that is the least aggresive fish out of the angels
