I actually just bought a sponge tree for my Eibli. He hasn't been interested thus far. I think the bigger angels are more of the sponge eaters.

I never feed sponge. My rocks usually get turned over (only a few) that grow xenia on top and sponge on the bottom (dark side). My angel goes hunting almost immediately.

It is the Pomacanthus group that really go for sponges. Centropyge are omnivourous with a strong preference for alga.
