$50 U.S. Dollars in The United States of America for the Hanna 782 Nitrate Checker. I'm glad you have cheaper options in Australia.
The salifert test kit seems to be about the same price here, wondering why Hanna Checkers are twice the price there....

I like the Hanna HR. Only real pain I’ve run into is getting all the reagent out of the packet. I usually cut a straight line across the top and “triangle bend” the packet to create something like a spout. Couple taps while pouring into the vial and it usually all comes out.

Captive market on an island.

I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon US with free shipping. I just have to wait 4-6 weeks for it to arrive, so no impulse buys. Lol

Anyway, getting off topic

I'm not sure everyone unders lands there is a high range nitrate checker vs the low range nitrate checker..the high range one is awesome...the low range one sucks
Is this not the same kit .
but knowing your nitrate levels prior to testing to determine is the additional dilution step is required ?

not always having a fresh batch of salt water mixed to dilute , messing with the tiny paper filter and syringe that always leaks .
Pita !

Your not using the hanna nitrate HR..
The hr is as as follows

10 mil of tank water in vial, put in tester..click the button..take out vial. Put regent in vial..shake two minutes. Put in tester and click button. Wait for the 7 minute countdown on tester...results pop up. Done.

Just wondering....
What's $300 dollars??? The Hanna HR 782 Nitrate Checker is $50 dollars, and yes 25 tests will run you $15 dollars.
I think you may underestimate just how far off you (or others) may actually be.
It was for the cost of the LAQUA the OP posted about on the literal first post

It's not the same tester.

The original LR was painful to use.

I understand the new HR is much simpler with just a reagent and no need to filter a sample.

You could dilute the sample for the LR but that made it even more painful.

Bit like the Calcium checker which is still annoying to use and gathers dust here.

I haven’t tried the calcium tester after reading reviews comparing it to the nitrate checker .
Salifert for cal and nitrate for now works for me .

Here is another vote for the Hannah HR nitrate checker HI782.
Love mine. The Nitrate LR checker sucked, but the HR one is just about perfect.
vial of tank water, mix in your reagent, shake. Only downside is the 7 minute wait to get the result.
