Reefers jump through and over all kinds of hoops and hurdles in order to keep things running in the reef...

What has been the biggest reefing hurdle you've faced in your journey?

Was a discus community tank not a SW tank, but back in the early 2010s central Arkansas had a rough ice storm. My area lost power for almost 9 days straight. There really wasn't any going anywhere. The whole city basically shut down. Fortunately, I was stocked up for me, but the only gas appliance I had was the hot water heater. Even If I could have gotten out, at the time, there was not even a single generator for sale in the state, haha. But the hot water was my saving grace. I poured hot dechlorinated water into the tank periodically to keep the temps up, over those 8 days. One way of looking at is is that I still lost half the tank. I feel I got really lucky in a rough spot that half of them survived. Definitely lucky that this is the worst I've had, so far.

Now I keep a generator with 20gal of gas on hand, lol

Phosphate control for me. I’ve had to resort to PhosphoE. That has led to elevated Lanthium levels.
