I put a lovely little orchid dottyback in my Evo four days ago. It moved right in, looked happy...and didn’t show up for feeding today. And I broadcast roe! Does anyone here look like a Usual Suspect? There are at least two bristleworms in here, but they’re small. No signs of a flamboyantly violet corpse, and that included the floor.

I had a dottyback jump out of my tank, didn't find it until it had dried up. I think another fish in the tank probably chased it out.

I have an orchid dottybacks for a few years. Probably only saw it 10 times ever. Rehomed it when I moved the tank.

I've also had a goby that disappeared for 3 months then one day just started hanging out in the open.

So anyways, your fish might just be hiding
