I figured I'd battle my insomnia by sharing my current setup. Though Ive kept bigger and smaller tanks, I really like the size of the 40breeder; enough size to experiment, but not so big that you need a log book to keep track of all the **** you end up buying for it :squigglemouth:
That being said Im still having a very hard time not buying one of the various 75gal tanks i see put up on craigslist every now and again :xd:
anyways, the tank (started nov 09):
night time
Equipment:
40g br, drilled 1 3/4" drain to a 20g sump, 1" return line to dual 3/4" return nozzels
~800 GPH flow rate
TMC clearstream UV 600 and canister filter (used for koi ponds, lol)
Koralia 2 powerheads
Hydor heater
Sander WT350 skimmer (impossible to find, but works really well)
Lighting:
120w custom LED fixture
78w Current Nova ex. with +blue and fiji purple bulbs
Livestock:
Black perc pair
McCosker's Wrasse
Spotted/target/psychedelic mandarin dragonet
Red spot cardinals (4)
flashing tilefish
lots of inverts...
PICTARS!
ill be adding more as i get new livestock or get bored...either way you get plenty of pictures as time goes on
dirty skimmer
simple return lines, nothing fancy here
now some livestock shots:
