Has anyone noticed the single greatest drop of the last 2 years? I remember a few few years back, if you could get your hands on some they were 200pp. Now I see them everywhere for reasonable prices. Has anyone seen this kind of a price drop or rarity change this quickly???

That's very true. I have 2 polyps of the purple hornet right now that I got in a trade. When I first put them in the tank it took me back to the 85pp that I paid a few years ago.

The 1st polyp of the purple hornet sold for $305 on eBay. The red sold for just about the same and I know because I bought the second one for $320.

Id say zoanthids are the worst. So many different morphs and all, and the only thing making them special is that they are "new" I think chalices are able to retain their high price only if they are rainbows since no matter what they will always be nuts. Also since most zoas grow so fast and are so easy to frag

Utter Chaos in 2010 - $180pp.. now you can find them for $15-20 in many places. .....in 2 years - Hallucinations will be $25pp.. my bold prediction.

Eventually they all fall.

+1
Except the melters - they just disappear along with your money

I've said this many times on many threads in hope of letting people who may not have been around the "zoa hype craze" long enough to have seen it

The hornets are a good example, but a few of you out there may remember the orange envy polyp around 2006 or so - weren't they going for like 1000$ a polyp till a whole bunch of OPE's came in ? Guess I don't know the whole story but I remember how funny the threads were to read, kinda like a few going on these days...

Still a favorite of mine, regardless of popularity or rarity

CITR Red Dragon was very expensive up to a couple hundred bucks for less than an inch, I paid over 100 bucks for a small frag a year ago after the price had come way down, now it's only gets 30 or 40 a frag.
