Scape done. Sand in the tank. Water going in, half mixed, half being mixed. Seeded with both the filter media as well as one piece of live rock from the old tank. Will run for a few days and then added anemone, coral beauty, and black ice clowns that have all been in QT for over 6 weeks.
Water filled up. Ready to add a few extra islands on the sides. This is live rock from the 65 gallon so it will help jump start but not sure it will stay. Moved on to the next job of removing inverts from the Rubbermaid tank on the floor. Added snails, hermit crabs, and emerald crab.
Found the anemone relieving itself this morning and as it did it shrunk down. I was able to get a look at where it has its foot secured and it is going to be pretty difficult to get out. I have flipped the rock over and placed a power head more directly toward it, to make it a little uncomfortable. Shall see if it moves.
Couple of close ups of the fish this morning. I am still working on getting the anemone out of the rock. It is DEEP in the rock with its foot. I tried an ice cube a few times last night and it didn't really work. I also changed the flow so it is semi directly on it, and it seems to have become a little more uncomfortable. I also moved the light away so it will maybe try and chase it.
This afternoon, I might go and try to hang it upside down slightly underwater.
Full tank shot from this morning. The two clowns and coral beauty seem to be doing great. Really active in the tank and swimming throughout the structures. Emerald crab, hermits, and snails also seem to be doing well. Have had a little bit of the uglies, which the inverts seem to enjoy. This was kick started by putting a small sheet of nori on a rock. The coral beauty picked a little along with the clowns, but the hermit grabs went nuts.
After just over 2 weeks of trying to get my anemone off the rock it had been on for 3 months, it finally moved this morning after it had been the dark for a full week. I made the move to carefully nudge the foot off the side of the tub and acclimated the anemone (was already same temp and salinity). It has shrunk down considerably in the past week being in the dark.In the anemone went and hopefully it gets settled later today. It has a partial grab of one of the island rocks right now. I started it there trying to keep it away from the powerhead and return tube of the filter, hoping that it doesn't migrate too far, but they have a mind of their own.
