Danes were considered undesirable if they weren't cropped previously here. I loved mine natural.

The ears and tails were cropped due to them being working dogs. From my understanding they would injure them frequently so the cropped them to prevent the injuries.

I had a bad experience with a Great Dane - Jesse. Of all of the dogs I have had in my lifetime, the male I had was the least intelligent animal ever. Untrainable and believe me, we tried. He went to three different obedience trainers and all three washed their hands of him. We gave him away to a friend that had a farm and he had a huge place to roam and not encounter many people. I haven't even considered getting another one.

Miss Alex would walk beside me with her leash in her mouth. Lady Zima was...well...special. Silver, my girl, was defiant and pushed every limit possible. Imagine why she picked me?

It snows here about once every 10 years on average. Saber & Sierra boy had a chance to walk in the snow, but it was only on the ground for a couple of hours before it melted. That's how Louisiana blizzards go. :p
