I didn't have a bottle, but years ago I got an old conch shell in a shipment of live rock from Tonga. The shell was ancient and was covered in a layer of coral rock. There really wasn't much of the original shell left that I could see. It had a few holes worn in it and was really cool looking. I wish I still had it, but I threw it out with lot of rock that was in my 75 that died due to 2 weeks with no power because of Hurricane Rita. That clean up was supposed to be me getting out of the hobby (15 years ago), so I saw no reason in keeping it. :(

I found a picture with the shell in it and blew it up. Not a great pic, but you can kinda see what it looked like. I always wondered how old that shell was.

Good morning.

A friend of mine has been making these vases made from towels soaked in wet concrete draped over other objects and allowed to dry. Then painted. I can’t help but seeing a resemblance to coral in these and think they would fit in with our backyard makeover. I think these are pretty cool.
