A head-scratcher ... ;Wideyed I was looking in my Pirate's Reef sump today and saw something shiny. Looked like metal. So I dragged out my trusty magnet and did a quick dredging through the mud and pulled out a bunch of "stuff" that the magnet had attracted. I went to the bag that the stuff came out of and same result. The tank is doing fine. Weird.

How much "black" is there in your sand, often magnetic?

I forgot to mention that the substrate in that portion of my sump is Miracle Mud.

There are some black particles and I had this issue before with the black sand that was originally used in the first version of the nano.

No. I have never sent in an ICP test on this tank.

not sure if this matters but gfo is a good thing in a reactor would it not work in your substrate in small amounts? In the ocean you have rusting ships and cannons natural deposits etc...

There is not a known problem with the tank. I just noticed the shiny particles today. The mud has been in there for a year.
