That looks the same. Lfs told me it was a starry night and this guy is pretty accurate from my experience.

Yea that's what I thought. Lfs said it came from his personal colony of starry night. Imo, it could be either one. Still a nice contrast with the purple/green.

I have purple bonsai and this growth and structure is not the same.

For 2 years I thought this was a Monti because all it did was encrust and was flat

My current offering is rather small, as the project is nano sized, but here are a couple from the 60 day old Shallow Acro Nano.

Vivids Cofetti, currently at 18-20k appearance, but gently guiding towards 14k.

Battlecorals BC Mr Nuetron, kinda saturated yellow, but should trend back to having pearling hues in the white and teal tones.

Ah, my favorite! I love a good bedtime story before night night.

I believe with smoothies, due to the hype in tenuis, then to speciosa, the granulosa, lokanis, echinatas, turakis, simplex, surhansoi, and the list goes on, were most certainly overlooked, and the name game didn't really take off. That in mind, Peng, was on the scene and built a reputation for having the most extensive and complex strains of smoothies. He apparently got out of the game, the colonies were purchased, and the story gets more interesting...

Must admire those that target the most challenging species, helping pave the way for sustainability of the harder-to-keep plants/animals...

Many of his collectibles were not continued under Peng lineage. Out of the deepest respect for the hobby and Peng, I would NEVER change the name, I would continue to honor the original name,

I notice this, and appreciate the 'respect' from the vendors... I particularly like the "xxxxx presents: insert original lineage + coral name here", like Cornbred does :)

I might say, I have Perry's (Peng's Purple Tip Granulosa), but not change the name to something else and try and hype it as a new found coral.

I know the stories and have been in the game WAY too long, and have laughed my tail off at the vendors and hobbyists using their marketing HYPE as they KNOWINGLY change the name, erase the history of these beautiful specimens. Don't worry all you slick fools, I will not blast you, two wrongs don't make a right, but you know exactly who you are now don't you?

...a shame...

Some will say, that's business, move along, so I will, but know that I am in this for the progression of acros, for the TRUTH of how to keep them! Sad times, when $ are the motivating factor for folks, I choose the animals.

Can always count on you for this, Perry. Thanks so much for sharing the 'behind-the-scenes' here. Great context, and you can count on me (us?) to help keep the lineages (and requisite storylines) intact!

I now do this stuff full time, and maintain some crazy massive systems both private and commercial. When I finally get the time, I will update my build on You-Tube, and begin a series of different videos. Here are some topics:

I wish I knew what this was. I picked it up a few years ago at the lfs. It pops under full spectrum 10-14k. Here is a pic when I first got it. Anyone have any ideas?

Looks like Miyagi Tort.
It tends to somewhat loose its yellow color when it grows into a large colony, but it comes right back when you frag it.

This particular piece has been cooking under around 600-700 PAR in the past couple of months or so, which is when it really started to color up this nicely, and shoot new branches all over the place.

But I have other pieces from it in my frag tank, and they range between 300 to 700 PAR and all do well and color up. Best coloration for me however seems to be at around the 400 mark and up, with a healthy dose of the lower end of the spectrum (UVA/Near UV) during the peak hours (which is when I run my full spectrum).
