Mithril Vest of waters
Good Afternoon,
Apologies again for slow updates on my build thread. I had a part for the vest I was waiting for on back order We will be discussing our friends the Elves (Fellow Reefers this week) ;)

The Divination of the Elves
To aid in the cleaning of The One Reef I installed a second MP40 on the right back side. Now you may be asking Mr. Reef Wizard Why do you need two MP40s especially since you don't run them very high speeds. (Max 30% speed) This will be used to get any dead spots along the back of the tank as the right-side Mp40 is aimed at the front of the tank. This will help our armor up next take full effect.

Mithril Vest of waters
To protect against the filthy detritus orcses we implemented this Mithril vest to help with my soon to be increasing bio load. I have a large fish shipment coming soon and to take precautions I am getting ready by installing a (new to me) Reef mat 1200. I got this in a deal with the DIY mixing station for a cool 250 bucks with 2 new rolls and a partial roll. I'm loving it as I completely gave up on the socks. They seem to clog super fast on my WB tank. So this is most welcome addition.

3D Print index Update

I will be posting my STLS for my CAD items that I have used and or made myself and 3D printed so be on the lookout for that. Remember my goal is to not void the Waterbox warranty by drilling into the stand so many Items have been 3D printed as brackets/shelving for alot of my equipment.

And yes if anyone is wondering lol that is GHA on my back wall. Its only growing on the back wall and not the rocks and its very short. I havent scraped the back wall since I started the tank :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Extra food for my soon to be stock (tangs) and the clownfish seem to eat some here and there. Also snails and other inverts love it

The Fishship of the Reef

Hey everyone,
I have a new update hot of the presses for you enjoy!

New Fish Age
I have since added a shoal of anthias. 5 dispar anthias and 1 lyretail female. The female was a mistake as I ordered all dispars but thats okay they all get along swimmingly.

A match made in middle earth?
I also have my convict tang in the display after quarantine as well. The Foxface is most definitely the tank boss as of right now. He is tolerable of Akon 2.0 (Convict Tang) Its a match made between elves and dwarves.

Uruk-hai of Middle Reef

So the Reef has a growing battle....
This picture is not all there are dozens and dozens I'm afraid.

We have alot of Uruk (aiptasia and bubble algae) coming out of every nook and cranny.

With that I say Lend me your Claw? Mandible? Pincers?

Anyways more diverse CUC in and getting fierce (hopefully).
I have added Pithos crabs Peppermint shrimp and more Bhergia!

All in all everything is looking pretty good atleast I think haha. I ordered 5 Bhergia in the past and they cleaned a rock that is now covered again. I'm not sure if they got eaten or what happened. Also I'm somewhat concerned about the peppermint shrimp. I ordered three and I do not see any so I hope they didn't get eaten either. I do not have any wrasse and biggest fish are Fox and convict.

Have a great week everyone!

It won't be long before your Convict dethrones the Foxy. Absolutely stunning specimen, BTW. Awesome addition.

***I may be biased, though

Cabinet Sensor lighting and Cycling Update

Cabinet Lighting
I added some LED strips underneath the cabinet to have some bright LED Lights come on when I am under the tank. They are really awesome and if you want to pick up some for yourself here is the link on amazon. They have a ton of add-ons and extensions. - Door Activated Lights

P.S. I added the skimmer and also ignore my mess of cables and dangling control boxes. It's all temporary :)

Cycling
Today marks week 2 of cycling the tank. Ultimately the tank is ready for fish due to 0 Ammonia and 8 nitrates however I am not ready myself. I would like to get my full plumbing completed and cabinet control area setup before I transfer my two clowns over into this tank from my Fiji Cube.

Video Attached of the cabinet lights.

I would love to know how you did your cabinet lighting. Trying to do the same thing with a hydros controller.

Its not on my hydros collective. I just plugged up the strips and stuck them to the cabinet and they are door triggered on with a sensor

Okay, cause hydros offers a door trigger.
I have that and a 12v adapter coming in the mail. Theirs not many instructions on the hydros stuff. But.

Question are your lights 12v? If so do you have a link for them at all?

And I think they are 12v you'd have to double check but power block says 12v

:( We understand there’s a lot to learn with HYDROS, but it’s important to take advantage of the resources we've provided.

The HYDROS Online User Manual is packed with detailed instructions, visuals, and videos that walk you through many features step by step.

You can access the manual directly within the HYDROS app by tapping the three dots at the top right of your main status screen, then selecting HELP. It’s also available at CoralVueHYDROS.com.

That said, we also have a video specifically covering this exact topic, which we highly recommend watching before moving forward.

What light would you recommend we use with the drive port in this door light setup?

Thats the thing...it does not matter whatsoever. This is simply a sensor that tells us when the door is open or closed, from there we can turn on/off any outlet or drive port.

For the most integration, I would find a 12v Light that can be put onto a DRIVE Port.

However, you can simply get a 120v light, plug it into an HYDROS Controllable outlet, and have that turn on.

Aid for the Shire

Happy Fathers Day!

I have been super busy moving furniture and things around and doing some much needed work on the house so I have an update today that I was able to get completed this weekend!

Second Breakfast!
I got a deal on this ReefDose 4 and I bought Simplicity triple dosing container. I was able to 3D print a holder as I NOT drilling into the stand. All my brackets are usually custom made by myself in Fusion 360.

I currently am using the BRS Hybrid Balling Method as my dosing routine. Simply because my Alk is consumed at a larger rate that calcium. I also like to have the benefit of dosing each individually as needed.

Yes, that carnation is an NPS. Will likely need a good amount of planktonic food! I've never gotten one for that reason, but I'll be checking to see how yours does!
