So battling algae of every kind, I decided to start completely over.

Removed my Pukani rock and will be removing the sand, which was nasty, disgusting any any other adjective you want to use.

The clowns, anemone and whatever hermits were alive with some snails are in my QT. I am trying to get the anemone to move so I can clean this rock off...so far no dice...

The only thing existing from the tank that won't be new is the marinepure block. Will use that to seed the system with dr. Tims one and only. Will be 120 gallons+ of fresh new saltwater made by Fritz RPM.

Working on a rock scape that will allow a lot of flow but yet pleasing to the eye. First take:

A sample of the water from sucking out the sand...yeah, I bet this was a large part of the problem.

The skimmer, return pump and heaters all cleaned. Need more vinegar for the gyre pumps. Need to recalibrate the apex pH.

Ordered some dr tims and ammonia chloride.

Need to soak the rocks in dechlor water. Decided against acid bathing them.

after sleeping on it, woke up and acid bathed the rocks. the first set look good. One rock now has a natural swim through, turned out really freakin cool. Also, the rocks were far dirtier than I would have imagined.
