What was the solution to the biggest reefing headache (problem) you've ever experienced?

Me when my urchin started toting around frags instead of eating my algae...

I will never place a rock/aquascape in the tank that cannot be pulled out with (relative) ease.

My first reef tank was basically a pile of rocks against the back of a 120gallon tank. Parts of the scape were inaccessible, and all the base rocks could not be moved without a major project.

If something fell into the scape where I could not reach, well it lived there now. If something grew on the base rocks I did not want, well tough $%!+, nothing could be done without a complete tear down.

Ironically the tank was very pretty and I was happy with it. I only pulled it down because I moved to Korea for three years and it could not come with me. But maintenance was a nightmare so I will never do that again. All liverocks must be easily removable.

(Ex)aiptasia. I tried Berghia nudibranchs, Peppermint shrimps, file fish, and various products. Berghias got eaten or vanished, peppermint shrimp didn't care about aiptasia for long, file fish didn't make a dent either, and the various products caused the aiptasia to spread even more.

A Copperband butterflyfish solved the issue within a week... I could have saved hundreds of dollars if I tried this fish first.

Was having lots of problems and could not figure it out. Calibrated refractometer multiple times with different solutions. Salinity kept changing. Finally said heck with this, I am getting a hydrometer. I then realized hobbyist refractometers are the most inaccurate pieces of garbage. Never again. I will never use anything other than a tropic Marin hydrometer even again. Physics will always hold true
