So over the past couple of days I have been slowly transferring the livestock over from my previous tank. As of today I have about half of the livestock transferred. Should hopefully be able to get the rest transferred tomorrow. I have some of the equipment transferred as well. Moved the APEX over and cleared it and started from scratch. So spent a lot of time reprogramming the equipment. The stand is a rats nest at the moment. Just trying to get everything running to keep the livestock alive. Lots of cord management and other things are in the works :cool::cool:

Almost filled with water. Started adding salt tonight. Should be full in the morning.

Got the 20" Synergy Reef Overflow plumbed and ready. Here is how we plumb inside the rear box on ours. We use 2 x 1.5" ABS Street ELs, 2 x 1.5" ABS sweep 90's and 1 x 2" x 1.5" reducer for the top of the emergency drain. For the pipe we used 1.5" ABS. We found all of the pieces at Lowes. Here is a picture of the built pieces.

You need to drill a 1/4" hole in the top of both of the 90's for air siphon breaks.

Here is the inside of the rear box after putting in the components. I do NOT glue any of these pieces, just press fit them.

Looks amazing!

What are the lengths of the PVC 1.5 pipe your using on the full, secondary siphon and emergency drain?

Thanks!
The primary (Full) is very short about 1.5". You want it flush with the the bottom of the box.
The Secondary (partial) is 3.5"
Emergency is approx 6.5"
These will all be slightly different depending on the amount of flow you are running.

The LEDs are from Dave over at nanoboxreef.com. I did them DIY. They are mounted on aluminum "U" channel. If you look back I have some pictures of them before I mounted them.

vertex alpha 170?

For now I am using the vertex alpha 170. I have a Vertex Alpha 250 coming in as soon as Vertex gets them back in stock. Hopefully next week.

Got all the fish and corals moved in and somewhat mounted. Still have to put the final touches on some of them. Here are a couple FT shots from today. Taking it easy with the halides to acclimate the SPS. I think I ran them too long on Saturday, some of the SPS started losing some color. They should be ok.

dont know if this has been asked before but how long is the PVC pipe going into the sump? And why is it cut at an angle at the end?

I really love the tank and all the Synergy products just make it sick. I would love to see you guys make the stand and rods to support the live rock, I know I would take one... Any thought that you guys would produce and sell these?

I might just have to borrow the floating rock idea. Great feature.
Is there any logic or ratio to OC vs Full Siphon & Emergency heights? I have your 16" and haven't gotten it wet yet. I sure wish someone made 1 inch "U" pipes to use, the double 90 just feels like a kludge.
