On sunny days and good visibility I get good pics down to about 70 feet without lights using my GoPro with a Backscatter Dive filter. For macro shots I definitely turn on the lights and flip the filter.
These sponges were about 75'

The filefish/French angel were 70'

Ok, added a poll to see where you guys like to dive the most in the places most affordable and accessible. May do some other polls on equipment, certifications, most memorable dives...any ideas welcomed!

Got a dive in today at the Blue Herron Bridge. Visibility bad maybe 3’ almost like a night dive. Sorry for the bad photos hope to have some better ones tomorrow.

Nice pics! I never see hermits underwater!

Believe me, I dive in freshwater lakes in Arkansas. I've been in 3' vis and that looks a LOT better than that!:D

All those photos are about 6-12” away from the subject. The hermit shell is the size of a softball

We haven't gotten certified yet, but freediving counts for something, right? Here's a few from our most recent dive off the coast of Ocho Rios, Jamaica! I used my old Nikon AW110, my wife had the GoPro Hero4, I'll add some video after I have a chance to review and edit...awesome thread so far! You guys are crazy

Great pictures guys!

MBX5, what was that Spanish Hogfish doing hanging out with all of those grunts and porkfish?! :D

Beautiful pic of the Queen Angel!

This video came up on my Facebook timeline from two years ago. We were in Curacao and came upon this abandon fish trap with a bunch of butterflies and other fish...plus a good sized green moray. Being the good sort divers are we emptied the trap and wired the door shut. I took the video and you can see me poke the moray in the tail to try to get him to leave the trap.

Very nice

I live in miami, I’m going to have to go there. Where exactly was this reef? Is there a national park near there?
This was a boat dive. We did 2 tanks one at Delray Ledges second at Lynn's Reef. If your looking for a nice shore dive check out lauderdale by the sea. Going more north palm beach look into the blue heron bridge. Amazing "muck" shore dive and snorkel not much coral to see but one of the top muck sites in the world.http://www.puravidadivers.com/dive-blue-heron-bridge-phil-foster-park
