i didn’t spend much time with her. She just did her thing and grabbed food as it went by or else she picked a pod. She was always up and out. She took a couple days to figure out the full light schedule after getting here from Madagascar. She wasn’t a sleeper that’s for sure. Females seem to be sleepers but my male has total different personality. Would like more males to compare.

Bet I got a picture of her there still. I did almost take them all lol
Just saying if I was a male Vivien’s wrasse humans would be scooping them ot of the ocean by the handfuls.

Only took1.5 Years to catch a choats in a picture. I think it was Tiny but tiny is tiny anymore.

Have you got fish from WWC? I need to know what salinity fish ship at.

Sorry I don’t test salinity on shipped fish. After some losses I do a quick float and add. I’m too scared of ammonia and stress to worry about salinity change.

The fish came in very healthy but shipped from California. Unfortunately the xenojulis is MIA for 3 days after seeming perfectly happy for two weeks.

Just added this guy. LFS couldn’t ID it. I think it’s a Girldled wrasse. He’s chilling on the sand bed waiting to find his spot in the tank. Any one else have any guesses on what he is? I’m happy with my 40$ purchase regardless.lol

That’s what I do. I call all the shippers i deal with to get their shipping salinity and match my observation tank. I’ll have RO and saturated salt water to fine tune when the fish arrives. No drip.

Want a Naoko’s Fairy Wrasse for 80 gallon. Any others that will play nice with it? Any that I should steer clear of for mutual aggression?

If fairy wrasse then any similar sized wrasse from a different group. Like an exquisite, hooded flame, Lubbocks etc.

That is a sweet chart! The naoko in a friends tank is more of an open water swimmer. Looking for another active type.

Do you bring the observation tank salinity to your DT by evaporation over a few days?

I could but I keep my DT at 1.026 which is what my current shipper uses and what TSM and ProReef ship at when I used them. My lfs keep fish at 1.018. When I buy from him he’ll slowly acclimate them to 1.026 over a week for me.

All fairies are very active. Really all wrasse are except for the shyer, small species. Though flashers and fairies are probably the most open water.

I won’t raise wrasse more than a .002 a day. I add salt instead of rodi but also if needed I’ll remove water and add higher salt. My fish are qt’ed slow and long but if quick then I’ll remove water to add to transfer quick. .001 - .002 a day

4 fish in qt. I don’t like even numbers and DT needs help going in display. Got Hemi and DT what flasher could this be? it’s not a bells

That's great. I'm setting up a landing pad tank this week for my two arriving next week (M. bipartitis and H. chrysus). No more bucket! Plan is bare bottom Fluval Evo with my long term matrix/live rock rubble in the AIO chamber, couple of rocks and PVC for comfort, and I don't know what to do about feeding yet--weekend will be interesting given it is an office tank. They are pre-QT'd so just a matter of slow acclimation over a few days, then acclimation box in DT.

Now things will get real interesting if 4 arrive alive. We are running a test on shipping with sand in the bag, so 2 of each will be shipped. Can all 4 go in the Evo? I suppose a bit better than the bucket...
