I’m worried about it… It’s eating but not enthusiastically. It gets up very late and didn’t get up at all yesterday.

I haven’t exactly been doing well with new wrasse recently
Any foods you can switch up to see if it is more enticing?

It already went back in the sand. It’s more that it is focusing on the rocks and sand and just misses the food going above it.

Hopefully I’m just overthinking. It was just shipped

Might have been useful being in an acclimation box for a while to do some food training.

My pencil and pintail still aren't eating TDO pellets and they are picky with the ROE, so trying to think how to get them used to eating something other than frozen mysis (the fairy was supposed to show the pencil how to eat!).

Maybe I should have gotten another Halichoeres...

I should probably just be patient. The flame angel only just learned where the food comes from today.

May try cutting up live earthworms?

My Leopard seems to do the same thing. She ignores pretty much everything I throw in including live pods and live brine. She's always picking at the rocks and sand though and she's not getting skinny.

Opposite of my leopard. She eats everything with gusto. Trying to see if she's taking out the ants that keep falling in the tank...

Question for the group. I have an 80g display 4x2ft

Currently have a leopard, radiant, and pink margin fairy. All 3 get along well

I would like to add another wrasse or two. Some of the ones that I like…

Earmuff
Melanarus
Adorned
Orange backed fairy
Black leopard

Any thoughts on compatibility? I’m thinking a halichoeres would probably be fine. The orange backed fairy’s are awesome, but I’m afraid my pink margin might bully it.

Maybe that’s what he said… thank you. I think you might be right!
There’s also Vrolik’s Wrasse - similar to Melanurus but they’re slightly different.

That one is new to me. What is it?
Hologymnosus doliatus they get big :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
I don’t believe they’re an aggressive genus but just get nice sizes.
But I’m also prepared to do a 6 foot upgrade eventually!

Is that a red cigar? I haven’t seen one in ages. Juvenile?
I had a chance on one of those I absolutely regret not taking it but I’ve also had the chance on a few species and regretted not going for it.

Good news is the Coris came out today if very late and ate well. Bad news is my radiant is dying. Don’t know why. It’s phenomenally fat but it’s sitting on the bottom.

Maybe aggression you don’t know about?

Have you tried putting it into a bucket with an airpump and seeing if that helps?
