The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

What is this guy from Petco? A baby Halichoeres marginatus or Halichoeres annularis? What is the different between the two?

Marginatus
Annularis is the old name I believe

Wow that is gorgeous looking fish. And nice job with the photos of it. I might have to add that to the future fish list.
Honestly the photos don’t do him justice
He’s magnificent

@OrchidMiss
I saw that you have a Dusty Wrasse. How is he/she doing? do you recommend him for a community tank? Do you have any recent picture of her/him? TIA
I love mine. I'll spam you with a few I just snapped. Excuse my horribly scratched glass, I got the tank that way. One day I'll have clear glass for the Bad Guys.

My dusky wrasse is a fun personality to watch, constantly hunting pods. He will flip small shells, nothing compared to my red coris, thankfully!
He can get a little pushy with my Timor, who is the smallest wrasse the tank, but he's very peaceful for the most part. I highly recommend this fish. Much prettier than the pics I snapped just now.

Apparently he did not eat your cleaner shrimp. (Yet anyway). :)
I haven't had him bother him!
I watched Jello (7.5" Niger) go over and get cleaned. No one messes with Knick Knack.

Beautiful!

I want, I want!!!!!!
How big is he?
About 4”
Mine and @OrchidMiss are about identical but mine has the yellow pectorals.
I want you to have one. I need to see your photos of one. I struggle because it’s scales reflect flash and mess up the photo.

He's notorious for grabbing a pod out of the sand and spitting the sand out on his way across the tank.

You can see his size compared to my Timor, who I've had longer.

I’ve had a few larger Halichoeres mixed with Cleaner Shrimp, Fire Shrimp, and Boxer Shrimp with minimal issues.
Even my Jade was with 3 Cleaners quite happily (I need to get a photo of him, he’s truly started to colour nicely and grow since he got placed into an 8’ coral tray).
Oh, and currently my 5-6 inch Hologymnosus is with a Fire Shrimp.

Has anyone else ever just gone looking for another (non-wrasse) fish and found that you just end up down a rabbithole of wrasses? Well, today I was looking at Pseudanthiad flavoguttatus and finally discovered the female kaleidos pencil’s colouration. Safe to say I’ve got another wrasse to watch out for.

I will try and get a good video or pic tomorrow when the white lights are on while I am working from home.

I just got an Orange Back Fairy Wrasse. My Nebulous chases him just a bit. I think I need some more rock work in the tank. I added the Orange Back the same time I add 6 chromis and a royal gramma. I added so many hoping the Nebulous would be distracted by so many other new fish.

any other thoughts on how to minimize the harassment? I have not see any signs that the Orange back is stressed. It has only been 3 days though
