Ok thanks. I've had a melanaurus wrasse before but it was way more outgoing, I guess I just expected it to act the same way[emoji23]. They get really beautiful and color nicely when larger. Can't wait for it to settle in

What two peaceful fairy wrasses would you guys choose that stays relatively small and around the $100 -$150 USD price range?

I might go with pintail (C. Isosceles) and orange-back (C. aurantidorsalis) .... but I'm sure there are lots more thoroughly yummy choices!

Yep, A. lennardi. Very expensive and very difficult. The one at 10 o'clock is prettier IMO and more feasible. :)

I honestly avoid answering questions like this, as not only are there LOTS of choices, but it's a matter of what size/patterns/colors appeal to you. In short, no one can pick out things only you like. :)

Yep, A. lennardi. Very expensive and very difficult. The one at 10 o'clock is prettier IMO and more feasible. :)

Or even the one you covered up with the circle - not so common either but very pretty, easier, and not nearly as expensive. ;)

My bad I forgot to clarify myself, always happens when I send messages online lol. I was wondering what recommendation would you guys pick for a beginner Reefer (any one) beginning to venture into hot Wrasses but looks stunning and doesn't break the bank. I myself have been looking forward to a Pintail and a Choats Leopard :D didn't mean to offend anyone

The choats leopard is one of the most difficult leopards you could try. They are very sensitive, even things like ph shifts may effect them.

For a beginner, I would go for a bipartis or melaegris, or even negrosensis.

For the fairies, isosceles is on my "to buy" list. You can buy females of any fairy wrasse to save money, they usually will all turn male anyway.

I'd also suggest a rhomboid or lineatus. Live Aquaria has bathyphilus females for under $60.

I'm trying find information on the Katherine's fairy wrasse. I have a C. solorensis, C. rubrimarginatus, C. Lubbocki, and a C. brunneus. Just wondering if they will be compatible? On the chart that @evolved posted shows they are mild tempered. Is you have pics, info please share.

I'm excited, next week my peacock wrasse will come out of QT after going fallow in DT.....I have so many pods and amphipods over running the tank and now brave enough to come out during the day as there's no fish!!! So she's going to have a treat when she comes out. Also handled cupramine for 30 days with no side effects and as greedy as ever....she's been absolutely bulletproof

I bought a female hooded fairy wrasse on Liveaquaria. It was so cheap I couldn't say no. My hopes it grows into a male eventually as I've heard most females due. I don't see many people owning this beautiful fish on the forums and I've always wondered why.

A buddy of mine has a nice male hooded. It's a beautiful fish.

Anything you find on the girdled (C. balteatus), extends nicely to katherine.
You should be fine mixing one with what you've got.

I currently have a 3" female meleagris and a 3" female bipartitus.
They are in my 240.
Problems?
