The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Is there another wrasse that would work instead of the flasher? Maybe another leopard?
Another leopard would work yeah, I’d recommend something easier such as a meleagris or negrosensis. I have found those two to be easier than a blue star.

Just wanted to share a cute video of my pink streaked wrasse. He jumped into a scuffle between my Ruby longfin wrasse and clownfish.

“Oh, you guys are fighting? Okay, I just want this shrimp.”

It's pretty funny how your female clown just stops like nope I'm out and leaves the male to deal with your fairy wrasse lol

Those were some of the ones I was looking at. Should they be added at the same time?
I’ve seen leopard wrasses added in after other leopard wrasses, they have 1-2 days of bickering then normally stop unless a more boisterous species of Macropharyngodon is added first then it can be up to a week, some cases a year.

Yep haha! She doesn’t really seem to get involved other than to get the male clown riled up. The most she contributes to any scrap is joining in “running off” the wrasse after it’s finished lol

Need help with IDENTIFYING one of my babies came as crescent tail but as it matures something is telling me it’s not.
it reminds me of a juvenile rose band I had in the past.

Looks like a female Cirrhilabrus pylei, katoi, or briangreenei to me, but they can be very difficult to tell apart. I'd lean more towards briangreenei.

Got any better photos?
Specifically the pattern, and the tail shape as from what I see it looks like a possible cross between the Pintail and the Crescent tail. Also a place of origin will help much more.

I hear you with the cross between crescent and pintail. But I keep telling myself no.

Definitely got the markings of a Cirrhilabrus isosceles and the same origin. The Crescent tail is from Eastern Asia so this isn’t a Crescent tail, unless my geography is that bad with counrties haha.

That’s one of my fav so won’t mind having two as I already have one. The waiting games begin but don’t think I’ll have to wait long.

Maybe 6 weeks. Went into the sand the day I received her and didn't come out for 2 weeks. Was out for a day or 2 then went missing again. Thought she was dead after 2 weeks. Then popped out after the 3rd week like nothing happened.

That was a rocky road then, great to hear that she was alright though :)
