I'm thinking they didn't actually read the thread, but looked at the pictures. Pretty sure no where in this 967 page thread has a six line ever been recommended.

I just rehomed a cleaner shrimp to a local reefer with a sixline that is a model citizen. Ergo, sixlines are peaceful and should be included in every wrasse tank. The data speaks for itself.

Lol sorry for laughing. Six lines…..are all 9/10 aggressive. That 10% is included for those lucky one in a thousand peaceful specminthat later when it grows turns into 5%. @Slocke said it right….the Wrasse Lovers (except six lines) thread.

Six lines are one of the worst fish for a beginner as well and a lot of people would agree with this

You realize you’re getting two very much not reef safe wrasse. The twin spot in particular is a giant. Great for a large aggressive tank but anything else you’ll be rehoming in a few years.

ReefPro and WWC sell rare wrasse though I much prefer WWC.

That twinspot coris is going to be a beast… and not a good one.

^^^ this. Nice to know I'm not the only one who SMH when someone disagrees with the literature. Just because someone has never witnessed aggression coming from a wrasse with a reputation does not mean the data is wrong. When experts like Scott Michael, Rudie Kuiter, Dr. Yi-Kai Tea and so on document that a wrasse is known to have an aggression problem there is good reason for it regardless of the naysayers limited, and usually biased, observations.

It’s been almost a week with the new exquisite wrasse. I did have some issues with bullying from my small (and usually very cowardly) tomini tang. Luckily that has been calming down.

Other than dealing with the mean tomini, the exquisite has been very charismatic and outgoing, always swimming right up to the glass to stare at me while I stare at him. It likes to hang out with my female rhomboid, but does occasionally sprint at her. And they both eat like pigs.

I enjoy being able to take a break from work to sit and watch them all eat their lunch :)

I had no clue about the 6 line… guess I’ll be rethinking that purchase as I don’t want a mean tank. Trying to keep it mostly peaceful

Your current wrasse will help maintain the tank and any of that genus will also do this job.
Sixlines are hell, even in the largest of tanks they’re a nightmare.

Can you guys confirm if this is disease or harassment? Tank mates, leopard wrasse, very large exquisite wrasse, Midas blenny, one spot foxface, Tomani tang, and 2 storm clowns.

Still not sure who beat this guy up, but he’s gone to fishy heaven :(

Maybe could look for an 8 Line if you really like the look of the 6 Line - I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere that they are a lot more peaceful.

Don't know abouth the 8, you may be right. However if you really want a peaceful alternative then get a pink streaked. They are very peaceful.

Totally agree! Oh I meant to tell you - my LFS had 2 yellow banded possums in a couple weeks ago and I was THISCLOSE to getting one. They are so stinkin' cute! (Like the pink streaked) :) (I believe they're probably TOO peaceful to hold their own in my tank though, and wouldn't want it to be stressed out).

Aww. I'm in the same boat. But if I ever get a nano theyre first on the list!
