The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

I had some mexican turbos on their backs and I'd never seen them on their backs before. They've always been much tougher then my other snails. Then I caught the culprit in the act. My butterfly of all fish!

I wouldn’t trust any of my rice I’ve ever had with all snails never an issue a butterfly fish on the other hand. They never can be trusted with anything.

Finally someone managed to capture the sheer rage of this fish!

That said you aren’t feeding on weekends. My wrasse would eat each other during that time
Oh yes I do. I set up this whole system so that (1) everyone gets fed on the weekends--fish, corals, inverts--, (2) I don't have to do it or feel guilty if I don't feed them at their regular time and (3) feed often enough for fast metabolism fish like wrasses:

Nice! How do you get the pellets to sink in the tank. Mine always go down the overflow except a few. Tried a ring but most aggressive eat all pellets and the few that sink start fights over a few pellets lol.
Aiming a powerhead seems to help some.

I have a smart wifi power strip that is scheduled to cut the return pumps 2 min before the food drops and stays off for 20 min. The gyre is still running and blows the liquid food and pellets everywhere.

Well I was scrolling through my favourite stores website to see what new fish they got in this week, saw they had a diamond tail flasher in stock and got very excited for a split second till I saw the price. They are asking $1000 CAD on sale for $899 CAD. I actually thought I was going to be able to get one for a second. Is this outrageous or the price they are going for? When I got mine that didn’t make it a few months ago I got it for $150 CAD

That’s a rip. I paid a lot for mine but how everyone is making a fortune on fish it wasn’t bad. I paid $397 ca
Couldn’t pass it up. I have a couple times and it’s the one fish I wanted but never got

That is pricey but still not super terrible. That would be about my limit to get one, considering my white tail was that price. How is yours doing?

@Lps_lover12 It was my max also. Didn’t want to wait to see if I could get them about half price. Chance may not come.
Mine is day 2 and looking good. I did drop him in qt with copper. Hate doing that with wrasse. I like them to settle then meds. If it lives to Monday I will feel better about it lol. In two weeks of alive then I’ll say it’s a winner.
Keep looking one will come your way

Don’t blame you, keep up posted on how he is doing. Best of luck! In a way it’s good it’s too expensive as I’m at my limit of fish I beleive. I’m at 11 fish in a 4x2x16tall aquarium and adding my final one tomorrow the tang and hope it’s not too much fish but we will see. Keep the photos coming of the diamond tail!

IV Tubing works great for drip acclimation.
