Recently ordered from a trusted online supplier. They have a habit of shipping extra fish if the species is a poor shipper. I ordered a splendid pintail and Carpenters. Is the fish on the left here a juvenile splendid pintail, or something else? Thanks!

Looks like an isosceles to me, but that tail looks all chewed up. Might want to keep an eye on that and have some kanaplex on hand in case she has fin rot.

Well, I sent my buddy the ad for a Leopard Wrasse:

He texted me and said he bought 2 because they said Leopards do better in groups.

I don't agree or disagree. I think they do equally badly so long as the tank is big enough

110 gallon. 5' by 2' if I recall. Plenty of sand bed and the only wrasses in the tank so far. I think we set it up about 6 months ago.

Well, here’s my issue… And why neglecting your tanks for too long can be so bad…

This girl (Vivien’s Leopard Wrasse) suffered quite a bit of neglect over the last few weeks, unfortunately she seems to be half blind and somewhat damaged.
The main issue I have is whether I;
• Leave the tank as is and recover her in it
• Remove some rock (giving her more sand and swim room) - coming with the downside of my blenny and gobies not having tons of hiding spots
• Move her into the main 5 foot with the Pencils and other “delicate” wrasses - although with how weak she is, I don’t know if she’ll be good enough to go with the flame back Angel (which needs to come out soon anyway)
She was rather skinny but feeding several times seems to be solving that slowly, it’s just the partial blindness that worries me. What would you guys do?

Well, let’s just finish the bad news and go to the better news :)
Unfortunately I have had a few losses in the main 5 foot.
IMG_5808.jpeg

I’m are down to 9 wrasses.
I lost the Carpenter’s Flasher to old age (he was a good 3-4 years old)
I also lost the Gold Nugget, the exact reason I’m not too sure however she just vanished and hasn’t been seen in months - maybe she’s finishing the transition but I doubt it.
Then the Lineatus also got a spinal injury due to the Flame Back Angel.
The Laboute also vanished (I believe he begun to get bullied by the flameback).

However, the good news… I still have both Pencil Wrasses! The Kaleidos and the Female Pencil are looking so fat still. I just load the tank with copepods and feed that system 2 times every day as the lights go out later than my nano tanks do.

Just received 2 McCosker’s Wrasses. (I just ordered 1…). They were pre-quarantined together without problems. I acclimated and put them in my QT tank today.

Question: If both of them make it, is it wise to add both to my Display tank? I had read they will kill each other. One came and looks very healthy with a yellow fin seemed video below. The other is duller and very lethargic.

This one is having a bad day…. Is this a female?

Unfortunately you’ve got 2 males. It’s more of a waiting game of when they’ll kill each other.
I had a Rubricaudalis with a Carpenter but unfortunately I lost my Carpenter (possibly due to this guy but he was also rather old).

A female mccoskeri looks more like this (I can’t confirm if this is a Rubricaudalis female or a Mccoskeri female - the only thing I can say is the red is becoming more dominant so I would say she’s likely a rubricaudalis)

Alright I got eveyone in a video I think lol, forgot to mention the carpenter! Firefish is slowly becoming a wrasse too as he swims with the group :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Haven't seen much aggression so I am very happy, some chasing here and there but day 2 seems to have died down. Was usually the exquisite.

Big shout out to The Wrasse Guy and his compatibility chart!

Stoped at @tsmaquatics yesterday and they were unboxing Hemi’s. Grabbed a quick video of this guy. They looked very good for just shipped Hemi’s and all are perfect size. It was hard not getting one or all so someone here please get some so I can see them in your tank
I was shocked a few hours after unboxing how well they all ate. Love to see them ship well on such a long trip

I’ve only seen that one specimen in person, we managed to grab it off an import somehow

And this sweet thing at Tsm. She wanted to jump in my pocket

I assume you meant this song. Twisties are too nice for a mean song.

Though I think I found the perfect song for my dragon wrasse. Just don't look up the English translation
IC3PEAK - Грустная Сука
