Does anybody have experience with the Hooded Flame Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus bathyphilus)? I am thinking of adding one to my 65 gallon but I heard they are pretty timid. My only other wrasse is a ruby head fairy wrasse.

If I ever have a spare 500 to drop, I’d absolutely nab one of these guys.
Also questioned an earlei the other week… dont think I could ever go for one, although the small 2 inch specimens I’ll admit are quite adorable.

So, after losing most of my fish from a 4 day power outage, we are now redoing all the tanks. Trying to decide what I want to put in the 8' 240 gallon wrasse-wise, as it will be an SPS reef (as the Maculosus angel eats every other coral we've tried so far, but leaves SPS alone). Current stocklist includes the maculosus angel, a lessoni sweetlips, a trio of green chromis, a quad of kashiwae anthias, a pajama cardinal, a neon goby, a tiger pistol shrimp, and some turbos, orange chestnuts, and star shell astraea snails (all the survivors of the outage). We do plan on adding more chromis, anthias, a few different tilefish, a variety of dwarf angels, and some different gobies as well.

So far, considering the following:

Cirrrhilabrus chaliasi
Cirrhilabrus finifenmaa
Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis
Cirrhilabrus lubbocki
Cirrhilabrus briangreenei
Cirrhilabrus katoi
Cirrhilabrus adornatus
Pseudojuloides cerasinus/splendens
Pseudojuloides severnsi
Halichoeres chrysus
Halichoeres marginatus
Halichoeres iridis
Macropharyngodon meleagris
Macropharyngodon negrosensis
Wetmorella nigropinnata

I had one. I would say it’s very similar to isosceles in demeanor. I recommend it. Nice looking wrasse and not overpriced.

That's
Thank you! I have access to a lfs that has radiant wrasse. I know they dont do well when shipped.
Do you have anymore suggestion on what wrasse i can add?
Going to be a pretty nahaky when it colors up!

Love the white lighting too. I’m also plagued by aiptasia. What are your plans?
I currently have a copperband that likes mysis and white worms but hasn't seemed to spot all the tasty nuisance nems everywhere.

Maybe I'll add a boatload of peppermints. If I get more desperate I'll just have to bioengineer an Aiptasia drug...

Splendens is colored up and doing well.
Either my female transitioned and I lost my male or my male coloured down, but man yours is a stunner for sure.

I have one currently, it is one of my smallest wrasse (out of 10) and he does just fine. Doesn't bother anyone else but will stand up for himself if anyone messes with him. The most aggressive wrasse i have is C. Laboutei though.

Quick question for you guys
I think I know the answer but if I add this beauty into my established tank with a six line
six line will go after it correct?

Is there a pair of pinks there?
Yep, I unfortunately lost my original pair just before I left for Panama.
Luck struck yesterday though when I found not just 2 pinkies but a male and female pinkie.
