No he was listed as a orange spot tamaerine wrasse. My iPad spell checked me into a different species lol.

Ah, a Tamarin (Anampses) wrasse. But I still don't know what species that common name is referring to; not a common name I'm familiar with.

Ok so I was completely off this is a picture of my new wrasse.Timor Orange-Dashed / Halichoeres timorensis / Wild Wrasses - Quality Marine

I also have a yellow meringue wrasse, pencil wrasse, lubbocks, and carpenters the others get along very well but the new one is a little bit scary atm

Sorry about the horrible picture but this is the first time he's really been out in a week and he didn't stop moving.
Problem is he doesn't get along with the yellow one behind him I think they are the same species and I didn't realise that before I bought him. I have however had other wrasses that were the same species and they did fine I'm hoping they learn to get along but will see. The other one is a yellow meringue wrasse. He is stalking the new guy. He pretty much runs the tank, unless anything gets close to the gold strip maroon he will attack anything

It's a transitional male; still has most of the female coloration.

Same genus, rather. They are both of the Halichoeres genus, but each is a unique species. Halichoeres timorensis and Halichoeres leucoxanthus.

I have however had other wrasses that were the same species and they did fine I'm hoping they learn to get along but will see.

Success with mixing Halichoeres species is a bit of a mixed bag; it doesn't always work. Other genera are much easier in this regard (Paracheilinus and Cirrhilabrus as notable examples), but usually it can be done.

The fact the timorensis is still out and active, indicates the aggression isn't too bad. If the leucoxanthus was forcing him to seek refuge in the sand each time he came out, that would be problematic. Give it some time, and this mild aggression should subside.

Awesome i hope so because they are both beautiful fish but i think until i uograde to the 120 tgis is all the wrasses for the 80 rimless

There getting more and more comfortable with each other at first the yellow wrasse was chasing the orange spot all over the place everywhere and he'd dive in the sand and then come out a few minutes later but the longer his out and about the better they are getting along with one another. My pencil wrasse, yellow wrasse, and carpenters wrasse all swim right next to each other searching for food. The orange spot is trying join in and they have started to ignore him at this point instead of chasing him which is a good thing for them I'm hoping.

You got all of the wrasses i wanted..they told me I can only keep one wrasse in my 55 gal. reef

The only reason i think it works is vecause i have an 80 shallow so its 4 long 2 wide and 16 inches deep i woukdnt jave bought this last wrasse but i dont see them for sale often so i figured id try and if it doesnt work my friend has a 400 gallon he can go in

And who is "they"?

It depends on what wrasse(s) you want/have.

I was really looking for some advice? I'm a big wrasse fan. The only reason why I upgraded tanks was because I wanted to be able to have more wrasses. Well I have 2 of them now in a 125g (60*24*20) , a solan and a condes .my local fish store told me i could not add any more wrasses to the tank, is this true ?

I think your biggest obstacle will be adding new guys with an established Condei.

Its best to add wrasses all at the same time if you can so if you do want to get a few get like 3 at a time. That way they wont establish a terriotory so quickly.

Those happen to be two of the more aggressive wrasse. They might be a problem. If they had been added last you could have definitely had more wrasses.

Sorry for slightly jacking the thread. I really want a flasher of some sort atleast. I'm going to make a big acclimation box with a lid and house one in there for a few days until the others get acclimated to it?
