Love this thread. Wrasse are by far my favorite marine fish. I currently have a potters wrasse, melanurus wrasse and a mccoskers flasher. I ordered 3 female black Leo's from DD on Friday. They will be here on Tuesday. Anyone else have a harem of leopards? Anyone have bad experiences with a trio of leopards? I'm debating on just keeping 2 and giving one to a buddy.
Your Potter's is a young male, so with his presence it's possible all 3 of the new leopards might always remain female.

Not sure this is the right thread, but I just bought a yellow coris wrasse, he disappeared for 2 days and now his nose bone is exposed. How concerned should I be?
That's usually a tough road to recover from. Once you see bone, if an infection hasn't already set in, it won't be long until one does.

If you can catch him, treatment in a hospital tank with antibiotics would be a good plan of action.

I Havnt been able to get a pic but one my favorite wrasses is a chisel tooth got it tiny and quickly growing I've seen pics and they lose color as they get full grown but ATM he is amazing midnight black with blue and yellow!

Anyone have exp with them? He's very peaceful now but worry when he gets big might get nasty?

Thank you.

Adding more radiants alongside your existing one could be tricky; the smaller/younger they are the better.

I would skip a leopard in a 60 cube, personally. Especially with the food competition the Halichoeres create.

Acclimation for sensitive wrasses: drip or just temp acclimation? And why?
I always drip, but almost never longer than an hour.

Whenever I have kept them I have never once had an issue with aggression of any sort, they have always remained remarkably peaceful.

To my suprise my lfs gave me a complete exchange on the exquisite that didn't make it which is awesome because usually if they don't make it you're out of luck. I went back to the store and exchanged it for this beautiful red velvet wrasse and couldn't be happier this little guy is awesome !

My Vanuatu exquisite came in on Saturday from LA in great shape. After a quick acclimation I put him in my QT and he was eating pellets 30 minutes later. I thought that I read somewhere that the juvenile exquisites have a white spot on their forehead. Can anyone confirm? It looks like a subadult but the yellow streaks in the fins are fairly visible.

Not C. solorensis; commonly called the "Ruby Head Fairy", and is actually a variant of C. cyanopleura (or possibly a unique species).

No, evolved is correct on this, though this fish is often sold as a female solorensis, the picture above is clearly a male fish of whatever species it may be. A female solorensis, which has the same basic colors as this fish, has them much more muted and not nearly as clearly defined. Also, the above fish has longer ventral fins than a feale solorensis.
