What do people know about Stethojulis bandanensis? There does not seem to be a lot of hobby information on them.
A very active, voracious planktivore. It is one of the most difficult fish to keep in the hobby. I am unaware of a single success story.

Why is it so hard to keep? With a big enough tank and enough live rock the diet should not be an issue. Are they hard to get to eat at all in captivity?

It has more to do with their needed caloric intake. They are more equipped at eating from the water column rather than effectively picking pods off of the rock. They need to feed quite frequently. Even in tanks of a couple hundred gallons they fail to thrive. Perhaps in tanks 500+g, but I have yet to see a success story.

Beautiful specimen! I'm going to add one to my tank soon. Never see any males offered, but the females are nice enough it's worth waiting for the transformation.

They're a beautiful fish with lots of personality. Mine transitioned with 2 months.

Thank you, just wondering. I order a Radiant from LA last week. UPS destroyed the LA box and put the fish in a new box, so when I got the fish his mouth was damage. Didn't live too long.
But I did get my money back when I call LA. Now I'm a little hesitant about ordering fish online again.

I'd be highly ticked off at UPS.
