Only in the instance of a spinal injury or a swim bladder infection I'm afraid.Do wrasse sometimes swim erratically? Like they've lost their balance? I have one that's acting weird today. Still eats great.

Hmmm. I have a flame angel that harasses him a little but nothing too serious. Are there any signs of a bladder infection? The fish looks perfectOnly in the instance of a spinal injury or a swim bladder infection I'm afraid.
Thanks for your help on this matter, I contacted the fish shop owner last night and he was willing to take the specimen back. I'm glad I found out about this! Thanks again. Now I just have to figure out how to catch the little guy...eeeeeek.If you are served grilled prawns, do you pay much attention to the size? :p

With a swim bladder infection the back half of the fish will seem more buoyant than the front half and the wrasse will swim in a way to compensate for it. As the infection develops, a bulge in the abdomen will get more and more noticeable.Hmmm. I have a flame angel that harasses him a little but nothing too serious. With a spinal injury, the tail of the fish will drop when it stops swimming.
Usually occurs from running into things with great force; typically glass tank covers. Occasionally can happen too with the sides of the tank if really spooked.OK, definitely doesn't look like a bladder infection. Don't know how he would have gotten a spinal injury. He just looks like he has no sense of balance at all. But when I put food in, he straightens up more or less and is entirely capable of enthusiastically eating. Weird.
Great, thank you! Do you have a favorite trap that you would recommend? :)With a swim bladder infection the back half of the fish will seem more buoyant than the front half and the wrasse will swim in a way to compensate for it. I use 2 different ones. One is an old AquaMedic fish trap. The other is a few pieces of eggcrate zip tied together to make a box with only 1 side open.Great, thank you! Do you have a favorite trap that you would recommend? :)

What size tank? In most cases any Halichoeres species, most Coris species, dragon wrasse, razor wrasses, Oxycheilinus species.I have a red coris wrasse and want to add another, I've read that sometimes wrasses are aggressive towards each other, what wrasse would you recommend to go with a red coris. Thanks in advance
