The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

In your experience with this species am I likely to have to intervene or should I just let them sort it out? At the main feeding time today both were acting normally.
If the dominant one is not forcing the other into hiding or outright beating it up, I would let it ride.
It would be longer, if they didn’t lead such active lives fraught with peril

Same of my wrasses

Are you referring to the anemone?

A potter wrasse and a Blu Star wrasse. Both are leopards

I had 3" sand in my 60 gal Qt Tank

Anyone with a Lennardi wrasse have them get darker?

It seems mine is getting darker, the yellow stripes are more dark gold, bottom fins were yellow now also dark.

I wonder if it’s because of the change in lighting or possibly diet?

Lot's of wrasses from cooler/deeper water and some others can do that under bright reef lighting . Paracheilinus attenuatus is very prone to doing this.

Don't know about A. lenardi but I would guess it's normal. My H. biocellatus above is extremely dark but they are not from cooler waters or from deep depths as far as I know.

i have a small juvi that's done this also - mostly the back half of it , was also assuming diet or my lighting(maxed out radions)

I guess it could be from high lighting, as I run a mostly sps tank. The wrasse was held at my lfs for weeks and kept it’s bright yellow color.
