That's what I've heard as well, but he wants the scotts a lot. He just doesn't want him to kill his red margin ya know?

Will a Red Margin Fairy wrasse and a Scott's Fairy wrasse do well together in a 250 gallon tank? They are both about 4 1/2 inches and the red margin has been in the display for about 8 months. The Scott's would go into QT first then into the display in about 6 weeks.

I never trust a Scott's to play nicely with other fairy wrasses, myself. They usually have a mean streak.

Maybe? Risky with no certain outcome.

And this. All those bright, saturated colors will end up dull and lackluster.

Much more aggressive than the rest of the genus, but on par with the semi-mild Cirrhilabrus.

Part of it is because Wrasses are arguably the most overlooked and underrated fish when people first get into the hobby. Everyone and their dog wants a Tang, Clownfish, Angelfish and a few others, but how many newbies getting into the hobby want a wrasse or have even heard of them right from the get go? Not many.

I completely agree.

BTW, somewhere, in the US probably, is some moron whose dog owns a fish tank with a Tang.

And no wrasses.

I got into this hobby cause of my love for wrasses and sticks I don’t think there’s a fish I like more than a wrasses.

Yeah, always been a wrasse man, myself. First tank only had a 6 line in it as far as fish. Now look at where this obsession has gotten me, haha

What’s so funny about this is that my first wrasse was a very well mannered 6 line did not bother any wrasse I added after him which was a very hard find gave him away when we purchased our house.

Yeah I've had lots of different fish over the years but by far my favorite are wrasses. The movement, colors and temperament are second to none. You get choosy on the fish you add.

What’s so funny about this is that my first wrasse was a very well mannered 6 line did not bother any wrasse I added after him which was a very hard find gave him away when we purchased our house.

A small dedicated tank to a 6 line is the only way I would ever have one. Too many horror stories about them for my tastes.
