Thank you. Ordered a potters and added her to the order. She hit the sand for 3 weeks and now out and eating. Unfortunately potters only made it 2 weeks.

Speaking of water flow, generally speaking, do fairy/flasher wrasses prefer high (number?) or low (number?) flow? I’m trying to strike a balance between what my wrasses prefer and what my future SPS prefer.

I’ve tried keeping a blue star leopard wrasse when I first started this hobby but it passed within days. I’d sure like to have one again but I’m concerned about their upkeep. Any suggestions on ensuring their longevity?

There really isn't a number, so long as it's not stagnant (which is unnatural for saltwater fish). They do fine with a lots of flow in an SPS tank.
Set your flow based on your corals - healthy fish will adapt.

Start with one that is known to be eating, and condition it further in QT.

What is the max size on the China wrasse? Such a unique fish

Mine is about shy of 5 inches. LA list it at 9 inches. I just don’t see how they can reach 9!inches in captivity.

Got a picture of the two China Wrasse in my tank. Male, actually more colorful in real life but the pastel color is hard to capture because it is so light dependent. The smaller female is in the back ground.

Congrats ...I had my female for alittle over 5 years before I lost her. She never did change and only grew to about 5-6”. I have seen them larger, but 9” in captivity I think is a rarity.

Is the Yellow Coris the best pest eater and most invert friendly wrasse out of the Halichoeres?

A Melanurus is very tempting and I like its colors better than the Yellow Coris (I like the YC too) but heard they’re more of a mixed bag regarding compatibility with inverts.

Also are Fairy Wrasses also pest eaters or are they more open water planktivores?
