Added an ato. Best thing ever for this tank. Scored it used in new condition for cheap. Plugged it in and worked perfectly.

Over the last week I added my fish. Before I get blasted I want to say that while I know my tank is too small for a Tang, I am going to be moving this spring and my 125 will be set up again.

she is abount two inches long and is acting normal and happy. Kole tangs seem to like weaving rocks more than most and she cruises the rock work all day. Four months in here and she will be a a huge tank.

Two baby clowns. I also have a yellow watchman goby in there. The Tang did not like him at all and he is under a rock. He came out to eat last night and rushed back under. I added him yesterday so I'm hoping today he catches a break. This is it for fish until I move. Cleaner shrimp will be next.

What would you call this? I really need a better test. They always look the same and not like any of the references.
I call that get better test kits. For cycle those are fine but for alk ca and mag look into salfert or red sea get a Hannah checker for alk. Best purchase I ever made.

Haha, I know, they are all zero now and pH is consistent at 8.4. I am going to get some good ones. I've seen Hannah recommended alot. Thanks for the input.

Thanks Philly, I am going to try to get one. I've always been scared of digital instruments (calipers, thermometers, etc.) But the amount of recommendations is proof enough for the Hannah.

I dont blame you but hanna is extremely reputible and ive loved there test kits. As alkalinity is most important to me it takes maybe 2 min to complete a test which is worth it especially when im depending on it so much for stability in my tank. Putting it in that perspective makes $50 seem like alot less lol

With softies and maybe some lps testing is as important so your good for now! But those sps can be high maintenance lol birdsnest and stylos are great to start. They wont be as demanding but definitely dont put any acros in until everything is stable.

Bird'snest and montipora are the only ones I wanted to do for now. I'm picking up some frog/hammers tomorrow I think.

I've lived in this house for ten years and never used my crappy little garage half bath. It is now my water station.

Defnitely get a Hanna Alk tester and test the Calcium with Red Sea(its not digital). I found that once I got my alk and Calcium dialed in and kept them stable, my tank smiled more. Keep it going, I got the same tank so I love checking out what others are doing with their Nuvo 40's. Cheers!

Looks good man! Tang looks good too, he’ll be fine for a while. I was going to say on that bathroom your wife must love you and your hobby! I showed my wife and she said “he’s blessed “!
Then I saw your comment about it! Good luck with new build.

Thanks alot. Ya my wife would not be happy if I did that to the inside bathroom. The Tang seems to be the happiest fish ever. She is the only grazer in there and just cruises eating all day. Im really happy with this tank and it's progression. Easiest one I've ever started.
