I saw a bunch of people talking about and using "gel filters" to take pictures of corals under extremely blue lighting. We all love the way our tanks look under the heavy blue, but sharing the pictures with others is often difficult. These little filters make it incredibly easy and they actually work very well. I ordered some through the guy that came recommended through a FB group. Here are a few pictures I took while on my lunch break, today. All with the iPhone 6 plus and gel filter.

These pictures are true to the eye. Meaning, my tank looks just like this when the blues are very heavy, usually within the first hour of the lights coming on and again the last hour the lights are on before turning off.

I also snapped a few shots with the canon and the gel filters, which I'll upload later. Thanks for looking!

Can't believe I missed this thread before! Do you by any chance have a company name to buy the gel filters, I'd love to get some.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I bought the filters through a guy on facebook. There are SEVERAL different ways to get them, but, I wanted to make sure I got the ones everyone had been talking about. If you want the exact ones I have, go to Gel Filters and you will see instructions on how to purchase.

Thanks for the ID on the A. valida. That does appear to be alot more accurate. I'm still very happy with the piece!

Thanks for the referral. I went ahead and purchased a pack. Looking forward to getting some good shots with the blue turned up with my cell!

Looks like those gel filters are working out pretty well. Beautiful photos, and the tank is awesome! I'm pretty jealous!
