Hello everyone. What would you suggest as being the best thermometer? Out of all mine, the mercury seems to be the best? Also, regarding ATO, do you all recommend the ones with the photo sensors ? Thanks !!

Tbh, there's not really a "bad" thermometer... except of course for a literal mercury thermometer. Most fall within a degree of accuracy that's perfectly acceptable for reef tanks. That being said, an inkbird temperature controller is the gold standard for aquariums and even then that'll need to be calibrated.Hello everyone. What would you suggest as being the best thermometer? As for ATO, a Tunze osmolator is the most popular, it's however quite expensive. I have an FZone ATO that I got from amazon which uses an optical sensor and is quite affordable. It seems to work well so far.
Same here -- Eheim Jager glass heaters controlled by InkBird ITC-306A. (Heaters set a couple degrees higher just in case InkBird ever fails ON,,, but that's never happened to me).I use Eheim Jaggers and an Ink bird controller. Been using them for years. The ink bird can be monitored from my phone

Ranco gets more respect as an industrial temperature controller but I've never had a problem with the couple of InkBirds I've used (for years).
For ATO, I like Tunze Osmolator 3 but there are definitely cheaper options.
Thanks. And wow. I didn’t realize how much it is until I looked it up. I don’t have an issue with the price as long as the product meets it.Same here -- Eheim Jager glass heaters controlled by InkBird ITC-306A.
