I have those tiny little white/grey starfish that some say are ok and some say not. Well, they’re not. I just found two crawling up and down my stylophora, eating all the polyps as the go. They poor corals is stripped down to its white skeleton! Needless to say, the starfish went to that big starfish heaven in the sky!

I'm sorry you have to deal with this!

Some of the asterina starfish are reef safe which is why many people have them without issues. Unfortunately, some of the more uncommon species will eat coral. They can also be difficult to eradicate from a system so keep looking for them!

My eyes are open and searching. I’ve only ever seen two and I removed two. But I know that when there are two, there are more! Erghh...

They mostly come out at night to feed so a late night excursion may be in order.. can almost guarantee you have more, probably lots more.

Yikes. I've heard anecdotal evidence that the darker colored ones are the problem ones. They multiply crazy fast, so I hope you caught them right away.

I think a harlequin shrimp is a good bet to eradicate them, but you've gotta then either feed it starfish or rehome it.

Yea... it was a grey one. I also know that bumblebee shrimp eat them and I have two. But, they are so tiny and I rarely see them so I never know if they’re really there. I didn’t know harlequin shrimp ate them. I’ll have to look into it.
