I like the majestic looking arch in my tank but I think it might be shading too much, especially once I have coral growth. Also, the top pet of the arch is like 3-4” below the surface which limits the corals I can place there.
What I’m thinking: Remove the 24” arch and leave everything else. The plan would then be to build up the tower at the front by placing a couple of mini arches. I would also build up another tower upon the platform that will stay in its place. So basically have two towers. This would also create more caves for fish to hide in.
The pic below is from January of 2023 but it gives a good idea of what my rock scape looks like.
I guess my question would be, could I make that change all at once with new Carib sea rock and not cause too big of a cycle? Any other issues that may arise from this?
I suspect that I’d be removing a large amount of pods and bacteria so I would be prepared to repopulate those
