Hey all, I am about to put a group of three small fish through humblefish's QT process for addition to my tank. I want to add a Court Jester Goby, a Royal Gramma, and one other fish to this system:

50 gal cube 24x24 mixed reef

Current inhabitants:

2x ocell. clowns
1x yellow coris wrasse
1x firefish

I'm having trouble finding a small, friendly fish to add that will play nice with a Royal Gramma and Court Jester Goby in QT. I was thinking maybe an Orchid Dottyback but I read a lot of reports that they are aggressive. Any suggestions?

The dottyback is likely too aggressive for that system, and would almost certainly butt heads with the royal Gramma and the wrasse.

How about a different body shape, such as a bangaii or pajama cardinal?

I have a dottyback. He has his cave which he guards. He stays in there 90 Percent of the day. Once abs while he will come out and tell my firefish to back off. But doesn’t go anywhere near my clowns

Mine doesn't bug my clowns either. He tends to go after other fish with similar body shape and swimming patterns. It's why I don't think the Gramma or wrasse are good fits for him with the dottyback.

Bangaii cardinal could be cool, good suggestion. Do they do OK singly?

Thanks, I think I'm going to go with:

1x Bangaii Cardinal
1x Court Jester (Rainford's) Goby
1x Royal Gramma

Which, after I QT those 3, will bring my stock list to:
2x ocell. clowns
1x yellow coris wrasse
1x firefish
1x Bangaii Cardinal
1x Court Jester (Rainford's) Goby
1x Royal Gramma

I'm thinking I can still fit some more smaller fish, or one more larger fish in here? I will be upgrading to at least a 90 gal 36x24x24 tank sometime in the next year.
