This coral used to be green and beautiful. Now it looks just sad. Can someone give me some advise on how to make this coral look vibrate again.

Thanks for all the help this site gives me. It is very much appreciated.

Start with tossing us some info.

Can you tell us what light you’re using and what your water parameters are? Also, a full tank shot would be helpful.

Ok I will thanks for your reply. Pars are perfect although my calcium is 375. Also I haven’t have any measurable nitrates in like 3 months. Not sure if that’s a problem or not. Alk 90, nitrates 0, phosphates .10, Ph 8.5,
Lights 165 black box in the middle and 59 watt marine strip that goes end to end. 75 gal reef. Attached is a full tank image

Pars are great with the acceptation of my calcium @375 and 0 nitrates for 3 months may be a problem?

Ok....things look good, chemistry wise. You could always raise nutrients a little. Softies love stuff in the water. But you have to be careful that you don’t overdo it.

My only other thought is lighting. Move them to a spot that gets more filtered light and not bright. Maybe they have darkened to protect themselves from the light. Like a suntan, if you will.

Other than that, I have no clue. Someone will be here shortly.

Btw, your tank is really pretty!

Thanks for the advise and the suggestion and the compliment. I particulley like the toadstool leather. That thing was a mere 2 inched tall when I bought him. Now he takes up the whole end of my reef. That thing is truly awesome. do you think I should move that coral down to the sand?

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
