I see.
So if you feed your fish spinach, they will grow stronger and clean the tank themselves.

Your corals will grow 1000% faster (and healthier) if you post pictures of them on Reef2Reef!

I just saw this thread. This company sent out samples to many Instagram influencers. They all tried it and found that it did nothing more than a regular frag plug lol.....

I about passed out when I saw $199.00 for ONE frag plug. Well, who am I kidding, people pay $300 to $1500 for a 1/2" to 3/4" frag lol....

I’ll see your 2,000 power cable and raise you a $4,500 HDMI cable.

An old friend of mine actually spent six figures+ on his audio gear (super high-end speakers, separate amps, etc) swore by them, saying that he could tell the difference between “regular” power cables and the $1000/ft ones! Bless his soul, perhaps he could hear stuff from another dimension?

It’s sad to see Best Buy even carry these products - I got a kick out of reading people’s honest reviews - what a bunch of crooks! But hey — we have many [rich] idiots in this world…

So it just so happens I went to frag farmers market this past Saturday and novum was there.
I asked how it works. THEY DON'T KNOW!
This is what they said. They tried to explain that it protects the coral from alk swings, ph swings, ect. I said confusingly "it puts a bubble around the frag??". They kinda said yes. Then they explained that the material forms alkalinity that the coral uses because of the material, blah blah blah, maybe because of the bacteria grows on the plug cuz it's porous, blah blah blag, we don't know exactly why, blah blah blah. They had coral examples of live frags showing growth was 2x the normal frag plugs.
Show special is $150, how many you want? They asked me.

I walked away...

My wife put a raffle ticket in the bucket.
We won.
I guess I'll have to frag 2 pieces and mount 1 on a plug and 1 on this when I get some time.

Seems like what they're saying is that this "works" because of the aragonite in the plug. In that case...

They also say on their site that they know it "works" because the coral on their plug had calcium carbonate in its skeleton... See the problem? I'm sure the other chalice didn't have any calcium carbonate in its skeleton at all...

I opened the box, here is what you get.

20230307_153507.jpg 20230307_153900.jpg 20230307_153715.jpg 20230307_153501.jpg 20230307_153436.jpg 20230307_153325.jpg 20230307_154044.jpg

I was very surprised how light it is. I not sure about how light it is. It seems it will just blow away in the tank. Your growing coral will be heavier than the tile and it's flat. No boss under the tile to drop it in a rack.
It is very porous. Breaks apart easily.
At max you can get 4 pieces for frags.
I mounted two green slimer frags the other day, one on a standard mount and one on a piece of this novum tile. Working in the tank and accidentally broke off a couple pieces.
One is smaller on the tile. I made a complete mess of it. I used water super glue(only thing I had) and the tile sucked up the glue. LOL.
I did not take pics of the frags yet, I wasn't too make sure they are good first. Last night they seemed okay, polyps out.
Stay tuned.
